Days after Kelly Monaco announced her departure from the program, another member of the General Hospital cast left the family. We are speaking of our favorite actor, Adam J. Harrington, who played John Cates.
On Monday, September 2, Harington announced via Twitter that he was leaving the series. He penned, “Well @GeneralHospital it was a BLAST, literally. To @valentinifrank, producers and writers. Thank you for the SHOT at joining your world. I loved it. To the phenomenal cast and crew. It was a honor to witness the CALIBER of your work. Now, seriously, I will miss you all."
His character was shot twice by Maurice Bernard's portrayal of Sonny Corinthos in the Friday, August 30, episode. In another tweet, he expressed gratitude to the series' supporters. According to the actor, being in "your world and feeling your passion" is a "honor."
The musician also said that he has read every letter written by the folks who have said "goodbye," and it has humbled him greatly. Cates said thanks from the bottom of his heart once more.
It is believed that when he shared a post on X with a picture of a peaceful sunset, he first hinted at the conclusion of his voyage with the ABC series.
In addition, he has acted in Breaker High, The Outer Limit, Station 19, Millenium, Bosh, and Royal Palm, among other films on his extensive reel.
Fans of General Hospital may find this departure painful, as Monaco has also said goodbye to the program. The Soap Opera Network broke the story first. Samantha McCall was portrayed by Monaco in the ABC series.
